Two inventors were introduced to each other in 2003, one a consumer software visionary and the other the creator of the event-driven Twisted networking engine for Python. The union of these two elements resulted in the alchemy that is Divmod.

A team of extraordinary individuals joined forces with the Divmod co-founders, and began wielding the tools of its art. The products that emerged from this process include the Twisted application server, a multi-service object database, AJAX before it had an acronym, a Gmail competitor, a social networking synthesizer, and enterprise tools for Python and Twisted.
