Amir Bakhtiar, CEO and Co-founder

Divmod is Amir's third startup: in 1996 he helped start, and served on the Board of, Throw Inc. a pioneer of the online community space that was sold to Excite in 1998 (RIP!); in 1999 he was founder and CEO of Neomeo Corp., a company focused on email innovations that was sold to Postini in 2001 and acquired by Google in 2007. In 2003, Amir co-founded Divmod, Inc. with Glyph Lefkowitz.

Prior to starting companies he was a Vice President and venture capitalist at Morgan Stanley Venture Partners. He started his career at Morgan Stanley in London in 1990 as a programmer coding convertible bond trading systems. Amir holds a degree in Computing and Artificial Intelligence from the University of Sussex.

Glyph Lefkowitz, CTO and Co-founder

Although scientists agree he was a danger even before his days at Origin Systems working on the never-released sequel to Ultima Online, popular concern about the threat posed by Glyph Lefkowitz began when it became clear he was the author of the Twisted Framework.

Allegedly raised by a computer programmer, rumours have circulated that he was completely removed from human society as a child, and there is some speculation that he is not human himself. Sources who have asked not to be named claim he is referred to by relatives as an "alien mutant".

As Divmod's chief architect, Glyph is responsible for coordinating the technology that glues the various parts of Divmod's applications (Blendix in particular) and infrastructure together, such as Axiom and Mantissa.

Duncan McGreggor, COO

Duncan started his hacking career at the ripe old age of 11 in the early 80s. From his adventures in rewriting games on Kaypro's luggable CP/M machine to the world of open source, programming has been his passion. When Duncan wasn't programming, he: was an Army MI linguist; worked his way up to sous chef in a fancy restaurant; studied quantum mechanics and mathematics as a physics major; lived with Tibetan monks, learning meditation and esoteric philosophy; and started his own software consulting company.

After several happy years of consulting, Duncan was lured into the Divmod fold by the legendary reputations of its developers and the opportunity to work with a team that is coding on the cutting edge. In addition to his work with Divmod, Duncan actively participates in many open source projects and leads a few of his own.

At Divmod, Duncan is responsible for directing and managing operations such that the architectural visions of Glyph and the developers meets the executive goals of Amir and the Board of Directors.

Allen Short

Allen handles Divmod's system administration from Birmingham, Alabama. An early contributor to the Twisted framework, Allen has been involved in open-source development for the past ten years, with particular interest in networking and programming language implementation.

Moe Aboulkheir

From a third-floor apartment in Cape Town, South Africa, Moe writes software for Divmod. He likes building things and seeing them come together, gravitating towards the implementation of tangible, user-facing features. Nearly all of the interesting things about Moe have no place in a corporate personnel blurb, so he would instead like to say something about enjoying reading books and listening to music. He doesn't watch anime, read web comics, or maintain a blog, though he does enjoy playing computer games.

Piet Delport

Piet joined the Divmod team in 2007. An autodidact, he learned programming at an early age, and has been at it ever since. When he's not working, he likes to relax by practicing Chinese martial arts and playing bass in his metal band, Strident.
